Spider-Man

This drives me nuts about Broadway. I’m happy for the kid who got the part, but why announce a “nationwide casting call” for the new Spiderman, when you just end up giving the part to the Alternate/Understudy. Why put him and every hopeful guy who auditioned through your bullshit…Once again, shame on you. — Adam Pascal

While the producers are all chatty about their latest cannon fodder boy, they continue a total media and backstage blackout on what happened that night to dancer Daniel Curry, the prognosis for his lost foot and ruined life, what was done to prevent recurrence, and what the current safety standard is for Broadway performers in their million-dollar-a-week deathtrap. — Fred Barton
