BROADWAYRADIO

Special Episode: Dr. Jason Kindt of Tony-Winning Friedman Health Center

Play

On today’s episode, Matt Tamanini is in conversation with someone who helps make theatre happen in New York City, but in a way that is much different than those we normally talk to on BroadwayRadio. In this special interview, he talks with Dr. Jason Kindt the medical director of the Samuel J. Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts. A collaboration between the Entertainment Community Fund and Mount Sinai Health System, the Friedman Health Center was recognized with a Special Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre this past June.

Despite the honor, Dr. Kindt says that the health center is still working to make sure that everyone in the community knows about them and the fact that they proactively help to address issues that often prevent artists and entertainment professionals from seeking medical care, from having extended hours to deal with unique show schedules to helping patients navigate the labyrinth that is performers’ health insurance.
