Broadway Theatres to Dim Lights in Memory of Sheldon Harnick, Thursday, November 9
The Broadway community honors the memory of four-time Tony Award®-winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick, whose extensive six-decade career created some of Broadway’s most cherished lyrics and memorable musicals. Mr. Harnick passed away on June 23, 2023, at the age of 99. Peter’s Brainteasers:
This illustrious songwriter saw his final Broadway musical open in the ‘50s just two days before an illustrious composer saw the closing of a musical to which he’d contributed melodies.
The name of the last song in first songwriter’s just-opened show rhymes with the title of the second composer’s last Broadway musical.
Who are the songwriters, the musicals in question, and the rhyming titles of the songs?
