Special Episode: John Rubinstein on the Lessons of Eisenhower’s Presidency

Play

On today’s episode, Matt Tamanini is in conversation with Tony Award-winner John Rubinstein. In his new one-person play “Eisenhower: This Piece of Ground,” Rubinstein plays former president Dwight D. Eisenhower reflecting on his life, leadership, and legacy two years after he left the White House. In their conversation, Matt and John discuss the lessons that can be learned from the former president, John’s meeting with Eisenhower when he was a child, and why the messages of this play resonate so much today.

They also talk about the recent 50th Anniversary Concert of “Pippin,” John’s favorite song from the show, and why Matt hasn’t moved to New York yet.
