BroadwayRadio’s Matt Tamanini and Tony-winning producer have been doing podcasts about the Tony Awards together since 2018, and this year, Oliver is back to break down his analytical model to predict what shows, performers, and artists have the best chances to take home the trophies this year.
In an effort for full disclosure, Oliver is nominated three times this year, in the Best Revival of a Musical category for “Parade” and twice in the Best Revival of a Play category for “A Doll’s House” and “The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window.”
This episode was recorded on Tuesday, so before the Tony voting window had closed, so the numbers and winners discussed herein should not be considered final, but rather a snapshot of where the race was earlier this week. However, Oliver will post his final predictions (both personal and according to the model) before the ceremony on his website.
