Special Episode: Candy Buckley on Witches, Arthur Miller, Wax Figures

Play

On today’s special episode, Matt is in conversation with New York theatre regular Candy Buckley, who can currently be seen in Sarah Ruhl’s “Becky Nurse of Salem” Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center. In the show, she plays a modern-day witch who comes to the aid of Becky Nurse, the descendent of the woman of the same name killed during the Salem Witch Trials and immortalized in Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible.”

In the conversation, Matt and Becky discuss everything from her character’s accent, the messages at the heart of Ruhl’s script, pushing around a wax figure, and much more.

“Becky Nurse of Salem” is playing at the Mitzi Newhouse Theatre through Dec. 31.
