On today’s special episode, Matt is in conversation with stage and screen stalwart McKinley Belcher III. He can currently be seen playing Happy in the incredible Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman,” directed by Miranda Cromwell.
In the conversation, McKinley discusses the experience of working with this unique company — especially after its leaders had already done the show in 2019. He also discusses how he uses music — and one particular jazz artist — to help inform his performance, the impact of having a Black family at the center of this iconic show, and what the theatre is getting wrong and right when it comes to shows by and about people of color.
