On today’s episode, Matt speaks to musical theatre performer Kim McClay who recently put out her first full-length album, “My Sanity.” The album is a culmination of the last six years of her composing and writing journey. It tells stories of heartbreak, triumph, perseverance, and hope. Her musical style offers a bit of everything – a little folk, a little funk, and a little country. She derives inspiration from some of her favorite artists (Lianne La Havas, Allen Stone, Joni Mitchell, Sara Bareilles, Lake Street Dive) and has created a sound she uniquely considers “indie-pop jazz-folk.”
