Tell Me More | Episode 43: Linda Lavin on Life and Art in the Age of Coronavirus

Play

On today’s episode, Matt has the great fortune to speak with living legend, tony Award winner Linda Lavin.

The past few weeks were supposed to be an exciting time for Lavin, who was not only preparing to release her latest album, but also to appear in the world premiere Off-Broadway musical, “Bedwetter” at the Atlantic Theatre Company.

However, with the global COVID-19 pandemic forcing everyone to shelter in place, the Emmy and six-time Tony nominee is now living a much different life than she had planned when she moved back to New York in March.

Matt and Linda open their conversation talking about the tragic passing of “Bedwetter” co-write Adam Schlesinger. They also talk about how she is physically and emotionally dealing with the world in which we now find ourselves, the importance of art in these difficult times, and her wonderful new album of standards “Love Letters”

Featured Tracks:
“I’ve Got My Eyes on You” by Cole Porter
“You Must Believe in Spring” by Michel Legrand, Jacques Demy, and Alan and Marilyn Bergman
