Tell Me More | Episode 37: KT Sullivan on the Variety, Impact of Cabaret

Play

On this episode of BroadwayRadio’s “Tell Me More,” Matt Tamanini talks to a legendary figure in the world of cabaret, KT Sullivan. In addition to her career on Broadway, she has been a staple in the New York cabaret scene for decades, and she was named the artistic director of the Mabel Mercer Foundation in 2012.

The organization was created in 1985 “to both perpetuate the memory and spirit of its legendary namesake and to promote public interest in classic popular song and the art of cabaret.” KT and Matt will talk more about who Mabel Mercer was and why her legacy is so important, but later this month, the foundation that bears her name will host the 30th Annual New York Cabaret Convention at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall. The four-night event will feature cabaret, theatre, blues, jazz artists and more.
