Tell Me More | Episode 22: Kavi Ladnier on the Importance of Being Inside WP’s ‘Hatef**k’

Play

On this episode of BroadwayRadio’s “Tell Me More,” Matt Tamanini talks with stage and screen star Kavi Ladnier who can currently be seen leading the new play “Hatef**k” at the WP Theater through March 31. The play by Rehana Lew Mirza is a two-hander directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt, and tells the story of two intelligent, successful South Asian Americans who battle over identity, placating stereotypes, and their intense physical attraction.

In the conversation, Ladnier discusses what an incredible opportunity it is to showcase these types of characters in ways that aren’t normally afforded to actors of color. She also talks about the crazy, whirlwind week that brought her to the production less than a week before rehearsals began. Ladnier co-stars in “Hatef**k” with Sendhil Ramamurthy. The pair played love interests on the NBC TV show “Heroes.”
